The Frigitek is a patented control device designed to save energy used in commercial and industrial cooler and freezers. These single and three phase devices function by sensing the operational status of the cooling system, and adjusting the evaporator fan speed accordingly to optimize energy usage.
Evaporator fan motors contribute a significant amount of heat inside the refrigerated space. Frigitek operates the fans at high speed only when the system is actively cooling. The fan speed is then reduced to low speed when the compressor duty cycle is in the off cycle.
The combination of the compressor run-time reduction and the decreased fan motor amp draw save a minumum of 30%, and as much as 70%.
Frigitek is not a Variable Frequency Drive and does not cause high harmonic current as VFDs. Frigitek features a phase drop monitoring circuit that protects the motor from single-phasing, and an anti-icing monitor. It provides soft-starts and is designed to be easily retrofitted into any existing cooler or freezer.
Couch Distributing - "In just two months, we’ve doubled the energy savings that was projected. That savings equates to a 25% decrease in our utility bill. Now that’s talking."
